Completed an international Yoga Alliance 200h RYT teacher training at Natalia Knopek Yoga School.

I have also completed additional courses in nutrition, which have expanded my knowledge of healthy lifestyle and nutrition.

Why is Losing Weight So Hard?

 

Weight loss problems often come from hormonal imbalances.
In women, this usually means too much estrogen compared to progesterone.

Hormones are too high when the body makes them faster than it can get rid of them.
This happens when the liver and gut are overloaded—for example, from a poor diet, alcohol, stress, or constipation. When this happens, old hormones don’t get cleared out and keep circulating in the blood.

Fat tissue also produces hormones like estrogen. So the more body fat you have, the easier it is to have too many hormones, which can mess up your body’s signals.

When hormones are out of balance, your body gets confused and stops burning fat.
Too much estrogen, insulin, or cortisol can cause water retention, increased appetite, and fat storage instead of fat burning.

High Cortisol
Eating lots of sugar and processed carbs, or living under constant stress, keeps your body producing insulin. Over time, your cells stop responding to insulin, and your body makes even more of it.

Stress also releases cortisol, which breaks down muscle into sugar and amino acids for energy. If you don’t use this energy through movement, your body stores it as belly fat, while high insulin tells your body: “don’t burn, store!”

On top of that, chronic inflammation, gut imbalances, and lack of movement make it harder to burn fat and remove excess hormones.

Everyone knows stress is bad, but few of us do anything about it…
Stress leads to fat storage, especially around the belly (so-called cortisol belly), because your body thinks it’s preparing for “fight or flight” and wants to save energy.

Cutting sugar and processed carbs lowers insulin, reduces fat storage, and stops chronic inflammation that disrupts hormones!

Why Does Combining Yoga and Healthy Eating Work So Well?

Twists in yoga massage the intestines and help balance sex hormones. Inverted poses and deep diaphragmatic breathing improve lymph flow, reducing swelling, bloating, and water retention.

Yoga also lowers cortisol and improves insulin sensitivity, supporting overall hormonal balance. This helps your body burn fat more effectively.

Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower support the liver in detoxifying estrogen and help lower the risk of having too much estrogen in the body.
